Hi babes!!!
Welcome back to Surreal Serene!!! I’m Serene and today I’m going to be sharing with you a special post, and sharing my first outfit from my trip to Rome, Italy!!!
I arrived at the Hotel La Residenza, in Rome, Italy which was a 4 star accommodation, and I managed to get a good price on the hotel through using Hotels.com which gives amazing discounts on hotels!!! I loved the stay at the hotel, their service was great and their breakfast was heavenly, and the reason why I chose this particular hotel, as it was located in a great area which was within walking distance of the metro train station, bus stops and within walking distance of 2 main tourist attractions including including the Trevi Fountains and the Piazza Di Spagna (The Spanish Steps) which is perfecttttttttttt!
The only concern I had with the hotel I stayed at, that there was construction work happening in the next door building, and the construction noises started from 8.30 in the morning (but I guess if you want to wake up and go and explore Italy, then this wouldn’t be such a huge problem)!!! & a minor tip, if you’re staying in a 4 star accommodation, you need to be aware that you’ll have to pay about 6 euros a night / per person (for up to 10 nights) as city tax (but this is not applicable for travellers staying in a 3 star or under accommodation)!!! (Which I wasn’t really aware off until the end of my trip, however it was highlighted in the fine print of my hotel booking invoice) Lol!!!
HOTEL LA RESIDENZA ADDRESS: Via Emilia 22-24, Rome, RM, 00187, Italy
So on the first day I arrived in Rome I decided to check out the Trevi Fountains at night, which is an iconic sight to visit in Rome, and the fountains are really spectacular to see during the night time and the lights illuminate out of the fountains and its a great tourist point, theres a lot of people and the vibe is spectacular with people laughing, sitting, chatting and socialising at the fountains and in the nearby area!!!
For dinner that night, I ate in a small restaurant, that served authentic Italian food nearby the Trevi Fountains in a place called Perfetto which also serves burgers as well, but their pasta’s and pizza’s are incredible and so tasty, and best of all it’s authentic. If you’re planning on eating out, make sure you also set some money aside in your budget for food, as their food prices are a little expensive and you don’t want to be out of pocket LOL!!!
PERFETTO ADDRESS: Piazza Fiume, 00198 Roma RM, Italy
If you’re living in the UK, you’ll know we don’t have a Sephora available here, and so I always get to explore the Sephora’s abroad, and there a number of Sephora’s around Rome, including the one located near by the restaurant I ate in, and the Trevi Fountains. I went inside and picked up a few of my Sephora essentials, let me know if you’d like me to do a haul on my Sephora bits!!!

Thanks for sharing, love your outfit. How do you decide what to pack when you travel?
Ohhh thatโs a good question! I decide to pack outfits based on the days Iโm staying and make sure to always carry transitional clothing pieces that you can wear in the rain or also in the sun :p and I always pack my essentials like undies, makeup, toiletries and Jeans are always a must โฃ๏ธthanks so much beautiful! Xoxox
love the sweater maxi dress, you look great!!!! I hope to visit Roma again, it’s a magical city.
City tax is a pretty common thing, but I still think they (the hotel, the agency, somebody) should let you know in advance.

Thanks so much Ivana! Absolutely you need to visit if you can! But honestly the city tax varies from city to city LOL! In Spain I only paid 7 euros In total, Rome I had to pay 24 Euroโs which is a lot if you think about it :p I will also go more into coats in the next few days but some of the attractions were really expensive in Rome, but none the less still a beautiful city and it was incredible to visit โฃ๏ธโฃ๏ธโฃ๏ธโฃ๏ธ
