I am really excited to talk to you all about my Londonย Shard Experience with my friend Carolinย last week Monday!!!
Let me tell you the weather was typical of London ….. UK behaviour… You guessed it, it was raining cats and dogs! We never let that stop us from having fun though ๐ as it’s the company that matters & we always have fun no matter what we do!ย Carolin was kind enough to extend a PR invitation to go up to The Shard to me! A really kind gesture on her part, to think of me <3 Thank you again Caz :)!
I’ve always wandered what the inside of the Shard would look like, having passed it on numerous occasions. I’ve found it to look a bit odd amongst the other buildings, but odd not in a bad way. I found it intriguing in fact, the fact that it was shinier than the other surrounding buildings ( due to the fact its one of the newer builds here in London) & the fact that its building tip peaks out amongst most of the surrounding areas, so it’s kind of hard to miss! haha ๐ & the fact it fits its name so perfectly, being shaped as a crisp and neat shard!
|| Walking into The Shard ||
After meeting Caz, we made our way to The Shard which was literally a 30 second walk from London Bridge Station! Howย convenientย is that? Inside you’re greeted by dark shiny interiors with white flashing lights and screens.
Getting up to The Shard, you’re transported through a couple of lifts that combine classical music with a ceiling that features a series of different moving imagery… An impressive feature of the experience in my eyes! Everything at that moment looked modern, sleek, clean and set the tone for the kind of views we’d be expecting once we made our way up to the top!
Once we made it up to level 68 we had to walk up a flight of stairs to reach level 69 where we could enjoy our first round of views. I have to point out that it was a shame it was raining at this point as most of the views were obscured by the rain on the glass, but nothing can distract from the amazement of the actual views of London. It truly is an exciting and sophisticated tourist destination.
The gadget you see above is one of the coolest inventions I’ve seen in a while. The handles can navigate the screen around to hover enabling you to hover over London’s attractions from a birds eye view… Spectacular right??? I think so!
Up to the 72nd floor we go… Caz & I onto another flight of stairs this time, we’ve reached to the top of The Shard, with open roofs … of course with the rain exposing us to the occasional drop of water, with it being open and all. The rooftop had views better than all of the rooftops I’ve been onto! The views were even more beautiful the floor below & the space was filled with plants, shrubs, and a rooftop cafe where Caz & I enjoyed a lovely hot Coco!!!
& then of course we had to take a few selfies! ๐
Overall, an enjoyable and lovely sophisticated tourist experience! I’d definitely go again, but possibly in a couple of years or so. I feel like the value of the price ticket would prevent me from going more often in the future, as they come up pricey at around ยฃ26.00 a pop but the views are definitely worth the value of the ticket!

Hahaha, it really is a bit too expensive ๐ I guess they’re trying to make up the costs of how much they spent on building it :D! It is such a monster of a building ๐ London is really expensive now that I’m actually thinking about it. You have to let me know when you come down ๐ We can go together <3 ๐ xoxox
Well, at least all of your lovely museums are free so there are plusses as well.
Will definitely let you know when I get a chance to visit, we can grab a coffee ๐

Thanks so much Lauren ๐ But trust me you’ll go up in a super fast lift you won’t even notice the height :D! But I admit the minute I went onto the 72nd floor and noticed the open ceiling I got a bit scared ๐๐! Heheheheh xoxo
No bother ๐ At least its super fast cause I don’t like lifts either hahaha!
I would love to see this view. I’ve been making arragements to visit London with my friend for a longest time but something always happens that prevents it. Some day, I hope I will get there. I’m glad you enjoyed it…being a tourist in one’s own time is always fun, I do it all the time. I’ve been to every museum in my hometown at least twice ( I love history).
