|Seventeen | Define & Conquer Contour Kit REVIEW!

I am really into Contouring products at the moment, and have wanted to try them out for a while instead of the normal Bronzer I’d apply on the hallows of my cheeks, so I decided to try out the Define & Conquer Contour Kit from Seventeen!

The Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit comes in two shades, Fair & Medium and I am using Fair***

The nature of the product is Powder based!

|| How to Apply ||

I followed the guide of application as I wanted to contour my face in a way that would suit my Face Shape & the guide was really suited for an Oval face shape!

I applied the Contour on all the areas highlighted in the sheet using the Real Techniques Fine Liner Brush to firstly outline my contouring areas, and the contour for my Nose!

Then added more contour products & blended in everything using the Real Techniques Contour Brush on the Hollows of my cheeks, my temples, my nose & my Chin!

Overall I was not very impressed with the actual product, However, I should have not expected that much from a Contour Kit that comes in two shades & that costs £5.99!

You would expect your highlighting powder to contain more illumination for contouring purposes, but the Highlighter in the actual kit contains little – no illumination!

Whilst the bronzing powder is definitely the winning aspect of this entire Kit, it blends in perfectly and does do its job really well!

I wouldn’t really use this again for contouring purposes as I wanted to love this product for being a powder based contouring kit, but it just didn’t work for me! I’d prefer to use a cream based contouring kit! I would however continue using the Kit for setting my Concealer ( as the Highlighter doesn’t contain illumination and is powder based > So it will be good for this purpose ) & continue to use the Bronzer side as a bronzer!

But on the flipside I really did enjoy the fact that it was Slim, so it is really easy to slip into your bag & take with you on the go & even has an included mirror which is great ( You can never go wrong with a mirror, can you? ) !!!

I also enjoyed the Packaging, it does remind me of Nars, in the way that the packaging is All Black & clean! A quality of the product that actually drew me into buying it in the first place!

  1. I’m really sorry you were disappointed by this product! I’m glad you’re making use out of it in other ways 🙂

    1. Actually I think I’ll try the same and maybe go for a Makeup Revolution one to try out first!!! Then I’ve actually had my eyes on the Smashbox one I’ll defo try it out 🙂 xoxox

    1. Thanks Lena, that means a lot 🙂 I loved the packaging it was so modern & clean but it really did disappoint me! I was wowed before by cheaper brands but on this occasion it didn’t prove me right! :-p I guess I’ll have to stick with Smashbox for contouring !!! xoxox

    1. I’d give it a miss too, only because the highlighter doesn’t do the job it was meant to actually do! I’d really try the makeup Revolution one! The Cover & Conceal works for concealing / Contouring & I’d prefer a cream based contouring kit in all honesty!!! xoxox

    1. 🙊🙉🙈 do you really think so? I found it blends in amazingly but the Highlighter was a slight Dissapointment but overall it was An OK contour kit 🙂 xoxo thanks Annie !!!!

    1. Thanks Rachel, I haven’t done much contouring either in the past, and this was possibly my first experience with a product unfortuantely it was the wrong product to try!!! I will definitely try out a different product in the future!!! 🙂 xoxox

  2. The one from sleek which around the same price is amazing! Definitely try that. So glad i’ve seen this review nearly picked it up the other at boots with everything being 3 for 2! X

    1. No way, I really don’t think you should get it! It was on offer when I bought it too & it was on the recommended section in boots!! so I thought it would be good! However, I was dissapointed I’ve heard about the sleek one! I’m definitely going to try it out 🙂 thanks Lovely you’ve helped me on getting a better idea of what Contouring kit I should try next xoxoxo 🙂

    1. Thank you Lovely!!! 🙂 It seemed like a good choice, But I guess testing out is the only way you’ll know if a product will work for you! I need to try this sleek one, everyones been telling me how amazing it is :-p !!! You’re so Lovely thanks for the kind comments!!! xoxox

    1. I love kits too, they make everything much more useful! 🙂 I am a bit gutted that the highlighter wasn’t a good aspect of the product, however at least I’ll use it for other purposes hehehe 🙂 a sad and happy moment! Thanks karen !!! Xoxox

    1. Thanks Lovely, Does it really make a difference maybe I was wrong to dismiss it completely I do love the bronzing aspect of the kit & that has helped in the contouring!! Whilst the Highlighting side was a bit of a fail! Xoxox thanks lovely 🙂
